Our first night on my first day back at work was a crazy night.
3/4 of the children fell apart. I get that Isabel and Lucy cry... One is a baby... and one is, well, a crier. But Sebastian joined the crying spree. I was tempted to video tape them to embarrass them 16 years from now but I needed to finish dinner.
And by prepping dinner, I meant warming up their food. I made enough food the day before that we planned on eating left overs. I just knew trying to cook something when they are all HANGRY was not in the cards. Even if I try a 20 minute weeknight meal, it's not going to work for us.
There I was nursing the baby and another child (aka the crier) attached to my other hand. She won't let me go. She only stopped wailing when I finally held/hug her.
Derrick was also sick during my first week back. He was sick and sluggish. But we made it... we all survived.
