I am an "amazon primer." hmmm... what I meant was, I am one of those people keeping amazon the #1 online retailer. back to school shopping for professionals!

Just because you don't go to school anymore does not mean you cannot enjoy some back to school shopping deals. For professionals like me, well beyond my college and medical school years, back to school shopping deals are times to stock up on fall and winter items. These are my picks from these retailers. Y'all know that I love my designer items but I also shop at your regular department stores. I worked at Kohl's back in college! I find classic and basic pieces there and of course, trendier items that I can wear at work, at home or out and about.

extra 40% off anthropologie sale

I stock up on summer and spring items from Anthropologie during their summer sale. Anthro items are pricy so I take advantage of the sale on top of a sale.

I am sharing my wishlist below. I have lots of white tops. Some dresses for special occasions and possibly for a very fancy date at the symphony. I am not giving up on wide leg pants yet. If I want to make the linen and high-waisted look work for me, I have to have wide leg openings.... or probably lose weight. Because of my wide hips, this style pants might not ever work for me. I guess, I just have to accept that.

Here are more adorable picks from the nordstrom sale.

I have a love affair with high waist wide leg pants right now. When I saw this Topshop turtleneck, my styling wheels kicked into gear. This top is less than $20.
Flowy and oversize cardigans are still in style. Check out this boxy cardigan for less than $45. The light pink is calling my name.
I shared the cocoon cardigan on my instagram. Linking it here because it's a winner.
Accessories are ons sale. I like KSNY earrings and necklaces. I own an elephant pendant and necklace from KSNY. I saw that the matching earrings are available and on sale for less than $30. I love elephants. They are beautiful and intelligent creatures!

1901 is a new brand I just found a few months ago. I am pleased with the quality of their items. My choice above with the flutter sleeves is 100% cotton!
Quay sunglasses are on sale. Madewell has layered necklaces available too!

my jeans picks from the nordstrom sale

It's the second day of the Nordstrom early access sale. I used to be "blah" about this sale. Like: what is the big deal people???

After a few years, I am converted! The sale is the time to stock up on basics and update your autumn capsule wardrobe.
If you are like me and have lots of basic tops already, then focus your efforts (and hard-earned money) on items that only get discounted during the sale. I am a sucker for jeans. I cannot justify a $200 pair since I cannot even wear them to work. So after a couple of years looking/wishing I own a designer pair, I just waited for the sale.

Here are my top picks while browsing the sale. I will let you know which ones I ordered and on their way to the DisisD casa. As usual, affiliate links are used.

1. Distressed ankle skinny for less than $50 - it is more distressed than the Sarah version I already own. If you are not afraid of white denim, this one is a nice choice for the price.
2. J Brand high waist - I own a pair of JBrand and they are so comfy and stretchy. These are a darker wash and look polished and perfect with heels for a date night.
3. Another high waist pair of denim for less than $45. No buyer's remorse after clicking the place order tab.
4. Ripped and less than $40  - I was very tempted to get this pair. Just look at the price! But I already have this pair that i love, love, love.
5. Stiletto skinnies - A couple of bloggers rave above this brand. It's definitely a splurge to get this item.
6. The distressed skinnies with raw hem are not going anywhere. This one is less than $45.
7. Ankle jean skinnies - A designer pair that I ordered (!!!) I have been eyeing these for the past couple of years. But I did not want to pay the regular price. I went a size up per recommendations. I hope it's a keeper (will share the fit as soon as I receive the item).
8. High-rise with button-fly - another item that I ordered. I sized down because of reviews that it stretches after wear. If I can only keep one pair from my order, I really hope it's this one.  I am already imagining styling this with my fave central shirt from the same brand.
9. Another splurge denim if you're on the look-out. If the splurge I ordered did not work, I may bite the bullet and upgrade to this one instead.
10. Busted knees from free people - I own the dark wash version. I like it very much that when I saw the lighter pairs are on sale, I ordered them!
11. Same denim in medium wash. They are 33% off!
12. A pair named after me. Hahaha.. I own the white denim I featured here.  If you want something different, this one is in deep purple. It's a cute color for fall.
13. If they have the white and deep purple versions, of course, they have all-black as well! Since the style is named Sarah and I love how the white fits, I ordered this one!
14. Medium wash without rips - another choice that will not break the bank for less than $40.
15. Here's the distressed version of #14. I own shorts from STS but not jeans. If you know how they fit, please share and comment below. They are 33% off.

Urban Outfitters: FLASH SALE. no code needed. I am so fascinated how all the 90s style is coming back. Logo shirts, overalls... I wore these items back in the day. ;) How about these wooden clogs? Oh, I wore these in the Philippines!

Shopping for Isabel will be tricky. Since she just had her birthday and she already received one of the "IT TOYS OF 2017." Thanks, Ninang Sheila! I did not know about hatchimals until we opened the package! My inlaws gave her the ultimate princess castle.... and bought all the Disney princesses for her collection.
