fall = football

My husband's favorite season is Autumn. He likes the cool temps and football. Our wedding anniversary in the autumn got nothing to do with his answer.

If you're family or reader for awhile now, it's no secret that I am a Colts fan. Though Derrick is essentially a Hoosier now (he's lived here in Indy, longer than he's lived in the Bay Area), there is no changing his mind. He is first and foremost an SF 49ers fan.... then a Colts fan.

I let him dress the children one Sunday. I saw them wearing this.

ok fair enough... it's Sunday night football and Derrick wanted to beat the Bears.

I am a supportive wife. The Colts were not playing that day....  I had no qualms wearing my red and gold for him.

on Derrick: wear your team's colors, if you love SF like him
or you bleed blue like me

Supah Bowl weekend {what I wore sunday vol 11}

It's the famous love chapter by St. Paul!
Try this exercise:
God is love. Love = Jesus.
Whenever you see love, substitute Jesus. Love is not just the Eros love Paul is talking about. Love is sacrifice; is ever-faithful; is agape.

3 Love {Jesus} is patient, love {Jesus} is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,
5
it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
6
it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
7
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8
Love {Jesus} never fails.

AMEN.

Impromptu sushi trip.

---------------------
I let my husband host a small Super Bowl party at our house. {he's been waiting for the 49ers to get this far!}
My mom is bringing chicken wings..... And I requested fried catfish (crave... crave...) from this same place {hey it's Sunday in London: i figured fish & chips is acceptable!}
I'm making this super easy chicken dip! It was a hit for my son's second birthday so I'm making it again for company. And since I requested fried fish {a not so traditional tailgating food} I better make a fan favorite!
Ingredients
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup ranch salad dressing
1/2 cup FRANK'S® REDHOT® Sauce
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
2 cups of shredded rotisserie chicken

So easy steps:
HEAT oven to 350°F. Place cream cheese into deep baking dish. Stir until smooth.
MIX in salad dressing, Frank's RedHot Sauce and cheese. Stir in chicken.
BAKE 20 min. or until mixture is heated through; stir. Garnish as desired. Serve with crackers, veges or scooper chips that my hubs like.

Happy Sunday y'all.

7 quick takes vol 16

Thank You Jen for hosting this week's 7qt

1...
Can't believe it's Friday already. Usually I'm one of those looking forward to the 'end of the week' especially after 2 mos of inpatient hospital work.
Today is my first day back in the clinic {yay!}
Well. I'm so thankful I made through another work week.

2...
Guess who's over the moon! My hubs is so thrilled that his fave team SF 49ers are playing in NOLA this weekend for the SB!

3...
I'm looking for a dress to wear at a destination wedding.
What do you think of this?
Or this?
I just got the memo that the reception is formal. I planned on wearing a nice dress but didn't realize I need something semi-ish formal -ish.
Yup, I'm looking at prom dresses!
Maybe I'm pushing it with this one.

4...
What morning devotion do you have with your kids? Check this one out from an awesome mom.
My own family in the morning: as I say goodbye, I kiss my babies and give them a blessing and sign of the cross.
I will try to incorporate a devotion with the kids daily. Mornings are tough here as we all struggle o leave the house on time. Maybe after dinner. Before showers. Instead of watching my DVDs or playing wii.
I like the lives of the saints book idea. Thanks Lindsay.

5...
My own devotion includes: morning prayer as soon as I wake up (if I don't say a spontaneous prayer, I use this) listen to the daily mass readings on my drive to work; read about the saint of the day; read reflections for the readings or head to twitter and read bishop Coyne's reflections.

6...
Switching gears: do I live in North Dakota? {I should have taken tips from Kinsi} I'm so not prepared for the <1 block walk from parking lot to the hospital entrance. I looked like Rudolph the red nose reindeer after that 5 or so minute walk! I did wear my puffy jacket and hood!

7...
I don't have new Picts of my kids to show off this week.
So here's an oldie:

They're adorable!

7 quick takes Vol 15

1...... I depend so much on my calendar on my iPhone. When I upgraded the software all my calendar entries were erased? Why??!!
We were a week late celebrating Isabel's baptism anniversary! I thought it was the 21st of January! When in fact it's the 15th -- last Tuesday. {I should have double checked using my blog!}
Well, better late than never. Derrick got us flying cupcake treats {cos I worked today}
The red velvet cake is the family's favorite!

Isabel with the look: "Just give it to me, mummy!"

2..... check out this beautiful post by Caitlin about the beauty of NFP. Maybe someday I will also have the courage to post about NFP and my marriage. way to go Caitlin!

3....... My daily shower is a retreat. It's so relaxing and peaceful. I even make plans and such during my 15 minute alone-time. So where am i going with this? My shower head has accumulated so much calcium. Water here in Indy is 'semi - hard'. I finally gave in and bought a new shower head... And I'm in love!
It's definitely worth the $32! This has 7-settings. And my fave s the rainfall!

Picture source

4....... Workout: besides going to Zumba once a week, I play just dance on our wii. My dance partner: Lil D.

The workout is not as intense and calorie-burning as my Zumba class but its nice to spend time with the kids and exercise with them .

5...... Video I am sharing. They're celebrating! it's gonna be a Harbaugh Bowl!

YouTube Video

6...... Now on to more serious topics:
I am joining cathsorority for the #GoDark4Life campaign.
it's been 40 years since Roe vs. Wade and abortion was legalized in the US.
55 MILLION Babies and counting have died.
hence the early 7 QT edition this week.

Tomorrow, no twitter, no FB, no foursquare for me.....
Join us!

7...... One last pict to leave you:
These are the reasons why I am pro-LIFE. Why I pray everyday for the end of abortion.

Certainly sons are a gift from the LORD,
the fruit of the womb, a reward.

Psalm 127:3

Super Time at the Super Bowl Village

Wednesday, Feb 1st was unseasonably warm for Indianapolis. No complaints since it's superbowl week in Indy! Isabel, Daniel, Derrick, Lolo Frank and I went to downtown to check out the Super Bowl Village and NFL experience.

It was crowded downtown as expected. We saw a lot of families enjoying the festivities. We even saw our friends, the Downings!

Nice throw!

Gotta support Peyton's little brother

He loves this football so much. He has been sleeping with it for 2 nights now.
He carries it everywhere!

It's nice to have Indy (a midwestern city) receiving the limelight. We are proud of our city: beautiful, family-oriented, hospitable. We know how to throw a partayyyy!

If you live in Indy, share what you love about it!
If you live in another city, also share what you love about your place!

"acow-nan"

I have been sick this past week with runny nose and cough and temperature up to 102.6F. I hate taking medicine! YUCK! It takes two people to pin me down.But once I have the medicine, my fever goes away and I go back to playing and dancing. 3 days into the fever, I found out I have an ear infection. So guess what, another 10 days of taking medicine: yuck,yuck,yuck.

My Lola babysat me last Wednesday bec mummy was trying to separate Isabel from my germs. I love giving my li'l sister kisses. But I was not allowed to kiss her face or her head yet bec of my runny nose. I gave her feet kisses instead!

This was a conversation I had with my Lola Iryn last Wednesday:

Me: Where'd Daddy go?

Lola Iryn: He went to work.

Me: Work?

Lola Iryn: yeah, work. He is an accountant.

Me: A-cow-nan?

Lola Iryn: Do you want to be a doctor or an accountant?

Me: A-cow-nan.

Lola Iryn: Do you want to be an accountant or a doctor?

Me: A-cow-nan.

(My daddy's job is cooler than my mummy's!)

Go 49ers! Win tomorrow's game.

Love,

Daniel
