I admit I have been posting outfits that not everybody (aka my mom) will buy. She does not share my passion for overpriced designer purses. So for this week's five faves, I thought I will shop for an outfit within a $100-150 budget. It was hard to stick under $100. But I figured even if I go past $100, some of the pieces I chose can be worn with other basic staples.

1. Tommy Hilfiger Striped Pull-on maxi skirt

I love, love, love maxi skirts. I am short (only 5'2") so I have to wear heels sometimes with them. I can wear skirts to work and church.

2. Apt.9 Crepe Crewneck Tank in night magic

orig $30, now $19.99

I haven't shopped at Kohl's in awhile. (trivia: i worked there during college!) They actually have nice pieces that can be worn for work and Church. I like this basic tank because I can dress it down with shorts for a weekend out or pair it with skinny jeans for date night. What do you think?

3. Target Mossimo Wendi Gladiator Sandals in cognac

orig $22.99, now $17.24

Gladiator sandals are still "in" this summer. I like them! you can wear them with skirts (as I have suggested here) or with shorts or jeans.

5. Monet Gold-Tone Crystal Collar Necklace

Orig $36, now $14.99

5. Aldo yellow clutch with flap closure and chain strap

$45

I wish this is on-sale. If it is, my spending will have been less than $100. Maybe if we wait till close to end of summer/early fall this will go on-sale just like the dark colored clutch (already priced $22!) If you don't have the < $150 budget for an entire outfit, maybe you can splurge and get this instead... also in yellow.

So how did I do? Pre-tax, my shopping bag totaled $142.21... After IN sales tax,  it's $152.16. I definitely need coupons on top of the sale prices if I want to buy these things below $150.
