Wise men ADVENTures

It's not too late to start our advent. Yeah we do have our tree up.
Yeah we have our nativity scene (little peoples) out.
Yeah baby Jesus is hiding.

But my advent wreath is missing!!!
Derrick, the keeper of all things storage and basement things, couldn't remember where we placed our wreath. Oh bumm. I enjoyed lighting the candles for dinner every night of advent last year. Good teaching moment for my then 3.5 year old and 13 month old. (They had no clue what I was doing. I mainly did it for myself, I think).

So when I saw this wise men adventures link up~~ I totally want to join the fun.

We don't do elf on the shelf in our house. I want to focus on the real meaning of Christmas which is Jesus. So I'm gonna start this game: hide the three wise men every night for my kids to search in the morning/after dinner fun. Hopefully, it will be a fun teaching moment for my children and nice tradition for the family. (Thanks so much for sharing your tradition, Jennifer!)

Let's join the three wise men as they search for Jesus. Will my 4.5 year old, 2 year old and 3 month old find Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar?

Derrick said I made it too easy to find the three kings and their camel. He might have forgotten for a second that we have a preschooler, a toddler and a baby...

The smile on Daniel when he found them here in the sunroom. It's day 1 of their journey looking for the infant king.

Daniel: is it Christmas?
Me: 20 more days. Why?
Daniel: so all people are out and we find baby jesus.

(people = Mary Joseph and baby jesus) God bless my son. I thought he will say something about presents. He is getting it huh??

I may be doing something right as a parent. Some days.

Let's keep in touch:
