1. Grab a copy!
I already asked for my Mother's Day gift in advance.... which means, I cannot really ask hubs to get me a copy of Jen's book.
Well... that's why I am a working woman. I CAN GET IT!
2. This video
This made my day. Thanks for making it, Jen. I really laughed out loud seeing your husband in his banana suit! soooooo precious.
GOD IS GOOD!
3. Public Radio
We love PBS in our house so why am i surprised that I enjoy listening to the public radio on my drive to work. I miss EWTN, which does not have good reception as I drive north. :( The morning secular talk shows are just not for me.
so just a few frequency dial past my white noise EWTN is NPR.
I love it.
4. Death penalty, drug shortage?
A very hot topic indeed. I mainly placed it here as one of my quick takes because I see "similar" issues when meds obtained by patients from other countries might be perceived to not work as well as brand names or generics made here in the US. If you are unfamiliar with the "botched" procedure in OK, click here.
There are a lot of medicines in "shortage". Mainly because drug companies do not make them here anymore and they don't make profit out of them. These are not just your Na Thiopental or pancurionium or KCl.... I am talking about droperidol (that I as a neurologist prescribe for my migraine patients in acute attacks) and in the years past: Vitamin K IV shortage. I had to give oral Vitamin K to Isabel because IV Vitamin K was in shortage in 2011.
5. David
Please do not break and fall apart, David! before I get to see you in person!
When I was in Florence in 2004 (wow, a decade ago), it was a Tuesday. I did not see David because the museums are closed on Tuesdays! And I still want to see this marble statue of the only person in the Bible who was described for his looks.
My husband asked:
so what are they gonna do? put a brace on his ankle?
6. Cooking for new moms
I love to cook. My love language is giving gifts. So one plus one equals two... (huh?)
As a new mom, I received homecooked meals from other women in the parish. I remember being so giddy and happy receiving a warm meal with only 1.5 hours of sleep. I like giving back. So yesterday, I made a huge batch of spaghetti sauce. It simmered all day long. I froze half and will give half to a new mom/friend. I hope they like it.
7.Congratulations!

You are so sweet! Thanks for the shout-out, Sarah!! I hope you get to see David, and that will be one lucky momma friend who receives your spaghetti!
ReplyDeleteI agree that receiving a meal from someone is always a great thing. :) Thanks for the shout-out!
