Nash and I survived our first day apart. ♥️ We thank Lolo and Lola for taking care of 6(!) kids. They are amazing, aren’t they? May God continue to bless them... πŸ‘ΆπŸ» Look at this cutie’s smile. He was awake with the older kids while I got ready for work. It’s like he knew he needed to see me and send me off. >>> my #firstday #outfit linked here  I have the perfect #mididress and it’s πŸ’― cotton! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ it’s from target! 🎯

(Actual) #myoutfitToday#leopardandpink! Day ✌️ of this πŸ‘©πŸ»‍⚕️ #docmomlife done. Today was better in terms of efficiency and getting stuff done beyond seeing patients. Emotionally better as well because I have the weekend to look forward to... πŸ’ƒπŸ» shout out to my mom @spencercalifor watching 3 kids from 8-2:30p. That’s a long time. I know it’s #survivalmode when watching the littlest and that’s ok. She took out the big guns before 10a. Lucy and Lucas were eating cake when I FaceTimed with them. πŸ˜†

It was a wonderful summer with my loves! It’s tough leaving them specially the baby. But I know with time, we will find a new rhythm. Here’s to ending my 6th maternity leave 🌸

I’ve brought this sweet girl to her soccer practice and her game... to give @derrick49ers a break. He coaches 3 other soccer teams except for Isabel’s. While watching her run and dribble and kick ~ I remember the 4 year old who cried and cried during practice and didn’t want to let go of my hand. Look at her now. She said after practice: I like soccer. ⚽️ today she asked the coach to be on offense two quarters in a row. She didn’t let that ball out of her sight!

I take care of you. 🀱🏻 πŸ‘ΆπŸ» I also have to take care of myself.πŸ’ͺ🏼

I wish I could say I did a barre workout today but NO people. No i didn’t. In fact it’s been 3 days since I worked out. What happened? You ask. I went back to work Thursday and Friday. My intentions were to workout on my days off but with a splitting headache πŸ€• this morning, I opted to just walk and take a nap instead of a medium intensity workout. This post is not to make excuses. But for me to remember days like today. If sleep is what I needed, I slept. I’m such a night owl πŸ¦‰ that waking up at 5a to feed baby just to workout at 530a just won’t do. πŸ™…πŸ»‍♀️ I just have to be better on my non working days about being active and pressing play. ▶️ I also need to find a new rhythm amidst the #momresponsibilities to make working out successful.

#BeKind. Before these shirts are available left and right, I have a sign already in our kitchen that says Be Kind. You may think it’s for my kids, but it’s also a reminder for me... to be more patient. More loving. More giving.

Today was a little easier (and thus more fun) than yesterday. The youngest boys and I made a quick target pickup and then ordered Sebastian’s cake at a local #grocerystore. We couldn’t leave the store without ice cream. Because #priorities. Sorry to disappoint but I don’t bake my children’s cakes. #notanymore. They want the whole she-bang for their party. #icannotdoitall. In fact, I delegate. Thank you grandparents.

I’m struggling people 😭 after a fun weekend, I cannot help but countdown my back to work date. I have 2.5 weeks to go! Why am I killing myself?
I’ve gotten a preview of what it would be like at work thinking for 8-10 hours (or longer if on call) if I don’t get enough sleep. When I do homework with the children, I get a headache πŸ€• having to use that much more brain power.
Ok. Ok. Enough of the drama and self-pity. Let’s count our blessings and change this attitude to joy.  outfit details here

Thursday musings ~ Yesterday, I started talking about quality of items and me wanting to go back to buying 100% natural fibers. I’ve been doing this “subconsciously.” It is definitely hard to find 100% linen or 100% cotton nowadays so I have compromised and did not even realize that I shifted from natural fibers to synthetic ones in the past decade.A lot are cotton blends.
Thankfully some synthetic fibers are produced in a better way that’s not harmful for our environment or the people making them. I feel funny using the words sustainability or ethical fashion since those words can mean a lot of things for different people... for me, my step towards buying more natural fibers is due to poor quality of items produced nowadays. If I go through my closet, the items that do not last are made of polyester or rayon.
Do I still have rayon and polyester items in my closet? Yes! I have bought them. I am keeping them. Some have held up. However, sadly, a lot of items that I have donated or purged from my closet are made of synthetic fibers. If I am just testing a trend then something that cost $15 made of polyester is an acceptable purchase. (See im not perfect or totally in the ethical shopping camp)But if I want something classic, that can last for a long time, the truth is we do have to spend a little bit more money. But in the long run, after several washes, that 100% cotton dress is going to stay in my closet for a long time versus that 100% rayon dress.

It’s already a short school week because of Labor Day; then even shorter because children do not have school tomorrow. Today also marks a week before my first day back in clinic. I’ve only pumped once and we haven’t practiced giving Nash the bottle 🀦🏻‍♀️ he must be having a major growth spurt. He won’t leave me. So there’s no extra milk per se to pump. I’ll have to try this weekend. Otherwise he will be hungry in a week.

We spent my last Friday of leave at #connerprairie. I’m a whirlwind mess of emotions. Sometimes, I feel ready for work. I accept the inevitable. Sometimes, I look at my babies and i get sad. These postpartum hormones are unreal. πŸ₯Ί
Please keep us in your prayers. I would hate for this anxiety to get worse. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Pt 5:7

It’s 4pm and I haven’t pushed play on @myopenfit#xtendbarre workout yet. Maybe because I skipped wearing my leggings? It’s true that I’ve actually been successful at checking that #workout box when I #dressforit. After that I then change to regular clothes.
πŸ‘š πŸ‘–
This morning, I ran some errands and didn’t wear #athleisure. I covered the booty appropriately with shorts (not cheeky shorts or leggings) and I still got called out by two men at the gas station. #cantwin πŸ€¦πŸ»‍♀️

This is the best time to buy straw hats! Summer is winding down but you still have to protect your face from the sun’s rays. I linked several from #Nordstrom#foreve21
