When taking history, "sick contacts" is something I note, whether positive or negative, when trying to figure out the source and etiology of a patient's infection.
It all started with the lovely boy on the left who gave it to Isabel. Isabel was out for three days last week because of her cough and fever. This week, Lucas came down with a fever and barky cough, who then passed it to Lucy. Lucy felt warm this morning when I changed her. She was more clingy than usual. We took her temp at the doctor's office and she had a fever too. This afternoon, she, too has a barky cough.
It's going to be a sleepless night again in our household.
