newborn five faves

Sharing my faves this week as I cuddle my newborn babe, Lucy Therese.

1. When the RN told me that they stopped making the epi foam, I was crushed! i loved that thing postpartum. I need cooling and numbing topical meds after a natural birth. Then I remembered Grace's post for musthaves inside hospital bag. I showed my OB the list of ingredients Saturday morning during rounds and she said it's fine to purchase.  I logged in my amazon app and purchased this  bottom spray. My review: I am not disappointed. It smells so good too!

2. You don't have to have this next one. You can just use a blanket or towel to avoid staining your couch or bed. But since I am still very much hot-blooded postpartum, I cannot stand any more extra material  that's not breathable. I got these (again) on amazon during our hospital/spa stay at 3am.

3. I am a water drinker. I carry a water bottle everywhere. Sometimes (may it be hormones or something), I go through phases where I just want some taste but not the empty, extra calories. Therefore my go-to --> crystal light. My current faves: tangerine mango and peach tea. Still faves from previous pregnancies: raspberry ice and raspberry lemonade.

4.  I am glad they still make Dermoplast. I like this too. It has benzocaine though. So if you want all natural things, then just stick to #1

5. If you are a breastfeeding mama, you definitely, definitely need this to soothe those sore nipples after several feedings.

For my previous five faves (when SJ was born): head here. If you have other suggestions for this new mama, let me know.

  1. Congratulations on your new baby! Yes to flavoring up the plain water. There is only so much water I can guzzle before the thought of a dehydration headache doesn't sound that bad.

  5. Great list! I want to get #1 for next time. I also really like the hydrogel pads for the first few days of nursing!
