. There’s panic outside the walls. But inside, #carecontinues
. The sickest still needs care. It’s all covid in the news. But cancer, seizures, trauma, heart attacks, pneumonia, meningitis - we still have to treat those. Let’s not freak out.Avoid the panic and hysteria. Focus on what’s important: why are we saying #stopthespread
? It’s not just “so I don’t get sick” but so we don’t overwhelm and reach over- capacity of hospitals. Where will those kids with cancer and meningitis and respiratory failure and heart disease go when the hospitals are full? Wash hands.#coveryourcough

It’s been a long week guys.Just a mere 8 days ago, I was worried about working all week at the hospital. ”exposing” myself since I’m covering the hospital #whereallthegermslive. God knows(knew) how to #settlemynerves. The #neurologyservice has #sickkids (not covid). I had to cover for a colleague (not a big deal) as it was just a #hiandbye type of thing. Then organized two meetings (#hellozoom 👩💻 👨🏻💻). I was busy being a #neurologist that I’m glad I wasn’t on #socialmedia much. I kept up with #nprnews and I received back to back messages from our hospital, university, kids’ school, #medicalschool. I wasn’t totally #offthegrid. During these tough times, I’m thankful for my #faith. I still have #freakoutmoments
but then I #stepback and #lookatthebigpicture. God is #biggerthanthis. #pandemic

If you think I have it all together ~ let me tell you a story:
Last year, I missed my child’s special person’s day in school because I cancelled the wrong clinic date. 🤦🏻♀️ I was proactive this year. Before I went on leave (3-4 mos ago) I cancelled the date 🗓 for this year. That was 7 mos before the event. #soproudofmyself
Tuesday night, my child who I cancelled clinic for just told me she is inviting a different special person 😳 👨🏻💻Hubs to the rescue: you should still take your mummy. She cancelled clinic for you. 👧🏻: ok. Can she bring baby??? So I was uninvited. Then re-invited as long as I bring Nash. (Who is the special person in this scenario??) 🤱🏻 The following day, I realized I canceled the wrong date for special person’s day! That’s two years in a row!

I’m late at this #GOT bandwagon. Believe me, I tried watching a couple of years ago and the opening scene with gore and beheading - I wasn’t prepared for all that. So I stopped watching and returned the dvd to the library.

and I was “influenced.” Yet again. She shared @emilia_clarke’s brain surgery (x2!) after filming seasons 1 and 2. I decided I’m going to give this #hboHit
a chance. I was also more prepared this time around. I knew there was a lot of killing and gore and guts and nudity. @jenniferfulwiler said if i make it past season 2, the nudity scenes go way down. I was still shocked 😳 watching the guts (think #battleofthebastards
) and nudity (brothels, sex scenes) but I did make it past season 2. In fact I’m caught up and watched all the way to season 7 during my maternity leave.
I liked the story so much that I’m reading the novels 📖 (as I’ve shared this summer) and rewatching season 1 (just started this week). I’m a sucker for #foreignaccents

Whew. We all survived a Tuesday. Shout out to @spencercali for helping at the soccer fields. My husband (mr. superdad) was going to coach 3&4 yo soccer practice and watch the 2 yo and the baby and the three older kids. 😳 I know he could do it. But come on hubs. You make me look lazy.
My mom was my 👀 eyes out there while I was still finishing in clinic. Hubs didn’t want to ask for extra help but 😐 coaching with a 3 mo and 2 yo 🤦🏻♀️ Even superdads don’t have gazillion eyes to watch everybody.
