day trip to george washington's mount vernon {photo diary}

Selfie of the 3rd place holders. We had an amazing race family edition to Mount Vernon. My dad and his sisters made it there first. They did as it should be because their youngest member is 14 years old. Nobody age 9 and younger for the winners.
My sis and her family made it second place. They came from the north, less miles. We were third place. My aunt and her 3 kids made it 4th. My cousin with her two young ones (ages 2 and 2 months) made it last. In their defense, the schedule is usually ran by the baby. They are ok arriving last.

I am super impressed with my SIL's hair cutting skills! I cut Bastian's hair twice and never again. I am better when I cut my girls' hair. Boy haircuts are trickier.

I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way when reading or enjoying a good book or TV series. Who's with me?

Baby Warren
Hubs and I met our nephew Warren this weekend. We also celebrated the twins' birthday (Hubs and Warren's mom) with a big Italian feast after Mass. We see hubs' sibs once a year. They live farther away, longer than the 15 hour drives we have made. If they live driving distance, then we will spend spring breaks and summer vacations in their neck of the woods. We don't see them often enough... which makes summer reunions so much sweeter.

The boys went to the beach while the ladies stayed at the house. The boys got caught in the rain.... I would have been freaking out. But Nathaniel exclaimed: this is the best day of my life. While Daniel stated: we are taking a shower.
Poor Bastian: no word. No sound. {I still think he had fun}
I caught up on my much needed rest. This pregnancy has made me super tired. I sleep 8-9 hours per night and I still crave naps. Some nights I wake up and cannot go back to sleep. {pregnancy insomnia}
We grabbed ice cream treats before dinner! Yes, before dinner.
I love this bunch.
