Who takes your photos?
My husband and 6.5 yo son take my photos.
Have you seen this video? Hubs has fully embraced his instagram/blogger husband role. It started with rolling of his eyes and questions like: again? photos again?
now he doesn't ask those questions anymore.
My son still does though.

Do you pay them?
I don't. It's part of my hubs' husband responsibilities. {lol!}
I told my son I will pay him 50c for each photo session. He has not asked or collected yet. Good thing they are all published here. I can look back and count how many times he has taken my photos.
He's gotten a long way..His early days as my photographere here.... and all the way here....

How about Isabel? She can take your photos, right?
She can take iPhone photos alright. It's still hit or miss though. Sometimes my head is cut off.
She does not have a steady hand, yet. So the big camera is out of the question.
But yes, if I am still posting OOTD photos for years to come, I have 3 more in training besides my eldest. {har!}

How do you do it all?
short answer: I don't.

long answer: I don't do it all.
This blog features mostly outfits and happy smiles from my kids. however, that's only one side of the coin. My house is not always clean. My children misbehave. I  don't wear make-up all the time. I love jeans and tee-shirts kind of day.

What? you blog?
I don't broadcast my blog at work. In fact, I don't really like talking about the blog at work. That's my professional side. This one is my creative outlet... my therapy... I also post faith and family opinions here that I don't talk about at work.

Are you guys done? {referring to having more babies}
I don't think so. I am happy with my four babies.
However, in my heart
We sure would like to space them more than 2 years though!

You have four kids? really? you look so young.
well, thank you!
I thank my Asian genes.

Do you have any other questions for me?

it's sunny and we love it

Beautiful Lucy joined me today for our weekly after Mass and lunch photo shoot.
She was more interested people and dog watching. Although hubs captured a few smiles from her.

The trail was busy because, you guessed it, it was nice and sunny on the low 50s here.

After a full week at the hospital wards -- this weekend was such a blessing. I napped both days ~ thanks hubs! Besides church with the family, I did not have to go to the grocery store, run errands or do whatever. that's my type of recovery.

Tomorrow is a Monday.

And thanks for a restful weekend, I am ready to tackle me some Monday.

Since you made it all the way to the bottom, I have a video for you.

Mass was longer than usual because Confirmation candidates were recognized today. It is the largest group I have seen! There were 30 highschoolers. We went to our former parish when hubs and I were just newlyweds... we cannot believe that one of the boys from a family of 7 is now getting confirmed. I guess that makes sense.... he was about 4-6 then (?) fast forward 10 years and he is getting confirmed.

I had the opportunity to discuss with Daniel what getting confirmed means. Not sure if he got it or it stuck.

nevertheless, I rewarded the children for a little bit of fun in the sun before we headed out to lunch.

I hope you had a blessed weekend.
I was MIA this week. I hope to post my old winter outfits from days past because spring is coming!

If I am not a doctor...
I will be a mom of 8.
For real...

I love reading about Lindsay and her family. I wish I have as many babies. I just love babies.
I get so encouraged that working moms like Colleen are open to life.
Let's not forget Jennifer, celebrity, radio talk show host, super-blogger extraordinaire! She's smart. She's amazing.

I have always wanted a big family. But now that, hubs and I are past the average of 2 kids (I could not find the new stats... is that still the average number???)  we definitely get the looks and comments:

you've got your hands full.
you know how that happens, right?
are you guys done?
boy, girl, boy, girl -- that's perfect. that's it, right?

a coworker to my husband: you know what to do right, snip. snip?

Good thing I was not there when somebody said that to him or I would have answered: No, we are not going to do that. why break something that is working?

But reality is reality. I am a doctor.
Besides giving the task of taking care of  these little souls, hubs astutely pointed out that I am blessed to help other children. Not everybody makes the commitment and/or given the talent and/or get accepted to go to medical school.

So yes, I am blessed to work in medicine.

Since we make it a priority for me to also succeed at work and be "good" at what I do,  I have to be realistic. I cannot have 8 children and still be able to catch up with my continuing medical education. I so wish i can!

There's only 24 hours in the day and after being apart with my babies, I want to cook for them. I want to help them with their homework. But when do I get to do *my homework?  That's the struggle. I am still looking for that balance.

Props to my dear husband ~ who reminds me to read and keep up with medicine; who helps out A LOT with the children when I have to work on a presentation, who has accepted his role as husband of an MD/mom wishing to have 8 children.

xoxo Mr. D!

notes for confession

I was late for church.

We have done so well every Sunday despite the craziness of trying to get out of the house. But this morning, I wasn't just late. I was very, very late.

My boys made it 30 minutes earlier because of  Scout Sunday. They're prepared!

My girls and I were late... And it's all because of my pure negligence.

smiling here... but not when entering during the readings.

Because I overslept. I woke up but still decided to cuddle with Lucy.

Because I read my email for a couple of minutes instead of heading downstairs.

I decided to take a shower instead of just changing.

Then when the baby woke up I knew she had to be fed. But I kept going and prepping for Mass.
The baby cried when I was about to place her in the carrier. I cannot bear hearing a baby cry specially since I know what she needs.

So I sat and fed her. I fixed Isabel's hair with one hand. Never done that before but you gotta do what you gotta do. At that point, I knew we were gonna be late. Ugh.

Lucy ate so fast. Thanks, sweetheart.

And finally we were out the door.

One thing about being late is that all the great parking spots are gone. I still went to the school parking even though my gut instinct told me there will be NO spots. I did anyway.

I passed once and confirmed what I initially thought and then turned around to park on the street.

I had to parallel park which took another couple of minutes. The walk was a tad slower than I anticipated with a preschooler and the baby.

It's not their fault. I take all the blame for being late.

I so needed the grace for this day and coming week. Once, I skipped communion because it didn't feel right as I was gone most of the Mass. I was working and on-call. I missed the readings and part of the homily. So I didn't go to communion. I felt so so sad then. I missed the grace. I missed receiving the Lord. :(

Today, my heart was telling me I cannot receive communion.... But I did anyway. I told myself I needed the grace. I didn't know how I could endure a week without receiving the Lord.

So that's another confession... Maybe I should not have received communion since I was VERY late. But I did anyway.
