After black and brown bags, red is definitely up there for my fave go-to purse color. As much as classic bags ask for black or brown, I try to vary it up and not have too much of the same color in the same style though they are of different designer brands.

This Saint Laurent Muse purse is my first designer bag in red. I wish the strap drop is longer... but then it would end up being a satchel or plain tote, I suppose.I love it because it's different from all of my bags in my collection.

I love that it zips all the way. It's not too big that I will end up overstuffing it. But it is roomy enough to put my essentials plus the kids' things. Water or milk is a no-no inside my bags. I do my best to keep them in pristine condition.

This is an old style from Saint Laurent. There are newer pretty styles I am lusting for.... Like this and this! They will look good in black or red.

How about you? when you shop for purses, what's your go-to color? How many black bags or brown bags do you own?

her dress, my dress {wiws}

Did you see the weekly wallpaper for BlessedIsShe?
"As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." You better grab it now. It's very pretty! as usual.

I am late at posting our OOTD since we went to 10:30a Mass. This post is truly What I Wore Sunday... Instead of What I wore to Vigil Mass.

You cannot see my pendant -- but I am wearing my Sacred Heart of Jesus pendant via Axis Mundi Etsy Shop. We did not get a chance to take close up photos of accessories because Lucy was already crying in the car. My grandma had to yell out: come now, Lucy is crying.

My priorities are  just a teeny bit messed up. Feed baby or take photos???

This Kensie dress is one of my faves from my thrifting surge last year. Do you know there are shops on instagram? That's where I got this pretty dress and I LOVE IT! I am glad it fits again. Still a little snug from last year but I will still take it!

little steps...

Isabel joined me again this week. I am more comfortable with pictures when I am with them. Derrick said: it's because I try too hard when I am alone... yup, I agree.

This is reality. This is me.
I love being with the children and posing with them.

Bellie and I are starting a new thing.
KISSY SERIES!

It's just so cute. I am thankful she is loving and not shy to give her mama a kiss.... in public! in front of an empty shop.. next door to the nail spa. In front of the parking lot!

on me: Kensie dress, thrifted // Bellini wedges via zulily
Michael Kors bradshaw watch // Rings and bangles from my mama
Vintage Chanel Classic Double Flap Bag, in small from trendlee

her pretty smile, 50% mine 50% hubs

I am generous this week for Mass Grades:
Daniel gets an A. Isabel gets an A-. Lucy gets an A++.
Bastian..... C?
The family behind us mentioned that they are expecting another grandchild in October. her daughter already has a 2 yo. Sshe said she was taking notes how we handled Bastian and the rest of the crew. She said we did it well....

REALLY?
REALLY REALLY?

There's still time to enter the LuLaRoe giveaway, so click that the amazing rafflecopter!

family photos

I am linking up with Kelly for SQT  for a look at our family photos and week. These photos were taken last month when my sister and her family were in town.

^^My favorite shot of the cousins, by far^^
pow says Sebastian

1. Since we live in the city, we do not have mountains or farms or dandelion fields we could go to. We could have driven 30 minutes or so and we would have been in rural Indiana... but we didn't. Lucy was just 2 weeks old at that point and we really did not want to venture out with a hungry, crying baby.

Does the venue look familiar?
That's because I have my OOTD photos taken here sometimes.
Sometimes? More like, A LOT.

2. Do you color coordinate your outfits?
I was on pinterest a few nights before the shoot. We finalized our outfits not long after that. we decided on purple, white and "something dark."

Hubs wore a purple shirt. I wore this lacy dress I got from Francesca and purple leggings from my sister. I was sweating bullets bec of those leggings... but anything for fashion! Isabel wore a pretty white dress.  Daniel and Bastian wore white shirts (Bastian: a similar one is on sale!). Lucy wore a purple-pink dress, from my sister.

When my sis told me that my nephew is wearing his red toms, I decided to wear my red Madden girl heels (lucky you! I just checked and it's less than $20!) And of course, Isabel wore her red ballet flats from zulily.

3. It was exciting trying to get all the kids looking and smiling  at the camera.

oh did I say exciting????
the word should have been TRYING.
HARD.
DIFFICULT.

It was something to write on the books (or blog about) for sure.
But that's what makes these family photos so precious. We will talk about them, their funny expressions, the meltdowns, the screams.

4. isn't my sister so lovely? and my niece and nephew are so kissable and adorable.
I love summers even more because they spend a month here in town. I love it.
Little tidbit of info here: Daniel and Nathaniel are 5 months apart.
Sebastian and Amelia are also 5 months apart.

My sister is an RN by education, SAHM by choice and photographer-extraordinaire. She loves purple Can you tell? She has that amazing purple necklace and bought Amelia a pretty purple dress.

5. We had to have a family photo because my grandma is here. She is therefore, greatgrandma of this 6 bunch.  Here's 4 generations for you!

The last time we had 4 generations in one photo was 5 years ago. There were 2 greatgrandbabies. Now... it's a crowd.

6. Look at this shot. we did our best. But the youngest ones were not even looking and the warm weather was getting to everybody.  I still haven't decided which group shot to print and display... tough decisions.

I just posted our adventure during the photo shoot for the church directory.  We like torturing ourselves by signing up our children to sit still and cooperate.

7. And now our family.
This week is a lot of beginnings. Isabel started preschool. Daniel is taking his role as big brother in school seriously. Lucy practiced taking the bottle. She did not do so hot. No surprise there since all my children did not like the bottle.

As for Sebastian, he is finally accepting and realizing the fun of not being the baby. He runs all over the place and we have trouble chasing him with a newborn in our arms. He likes it.

So that's a wrap. I posted a few of the children's shots here too.

low expectations

it's a series of unfortunate events that led to low expectations.

Derrick sent me a text around 3:15p saying" on our way" and I was still trying to finish my lunch while nursing Lucy. We haven't changed to our assigned outfits yet. Ourr photo shoot appointment for the Church directory was scheduled in 45 minutes.

Hubs arrived with the gang. The older children were sleeping in the car. They fought their nap as usual and then passed out once in their carseats. Once Derrick pulled in our driveway, I finished feeding Lucy. I went upstairs and took my cardigan and decided what I wore to the doctor actually works for our color scheme. I took Lucy's pink dress because she still had to change.

Then the fun thing of transferring all three kids to the other car commenced. We cannot use hubs' car because, duh, it only has 2 rows. So there I was, transferring the boys and Isabel while they were sleeping. That's when I noticed Sebastian's bowl cut and Daniel's crooked bangs.

Derrick told me my FIL will give the boys a haircut/trim before school starts but I did not realize it was the day of the photo session. We were rushing OTD that I did not get a chance to bring  hair gel.

Derrick closed the house door and brought the baby in her carseat. That's when I noticed he did not change her outfit. whaaattt???? so he had to do that in the garage.

At that point, it was already 3:40p and our appt was at 4p, check in requested at 3:55pm. On the drive there, I was being quiet as it was indeed a stressful time. I had low expectations of how these photos will turn out.

7 minutes later.

Arrival at the church parking lot: all 3 kids still asleep. now the interesting part. Who gets carried and who has to be woken up.

I took the stroller out and decided to place sleeping Bastian. Derrick carried Isabel. Daniel woke up. I carried baby Lucy in the carseat. Derrick closed the trunk door.... and hit his head! again, whaaaaatt???? he asked me if he was bleeding.

Great.

I inspected his scalp. Good no blood, no erythema. whew.

we trekked inside.
we made it just in time for check-in. {woohoo. that's a win!}

The sweet lady (who we already know from church) checked us in while we finished a few more things. fix isabel's hair. Comb sebastian's hair. pick up now fussy baby. again chaos....

With meltdowns.

Fast forward: getting our photos taken. Isabel was still pouting. Sebastian probably had a headache and was still having a meltdown.

The photographer asked if they like cookies. Nobody answered. nobody smiled. I thought, lady you gotta aim higher.

Derrick blurted: how about ice cream?

Then I had this bright idea: ok, how about ice cream after this if you guys cooperate.
we bribed the children icecream.

awesome job, mommy. ice cream before dinner...
you gotta do what you gotta do.
it is what it is.

in the end the children did not get ice cream. They were running all over the gym while we were reviewing the photos.

I guess what did I expect? all that space... and it's the GYM. of course, my 2 yo will run all over the place.

on our way home: Derrick said, those pictures actually turned out ok.
yup, I said, we had low expectations and the photos caught us off guard.

we will take the unfortunate events.... and also the good end.

Q&A with mom-blogger Sarah... interviewed by Sarah

Loft Top, old
Vintage Chanel Bag {visit trendlee and get 5% off with code: disisd}
LuLaRoe skirt, reviewed here

I am amazed that I have posted/published something almost everyday in July (except for Saturdays). Because of the number of posts I have written, a Q&A is in order. I was interviewed.... by myself.

Q: How did you do that (publishing a post a day)?
Looks like the routine of taking outfit photos, then resizing them and uploading them on a new blog post helps. I do not necessarily write a post then and there. Once the photos are on the drafts, I can let them sit there till I have time to write. That's usually when children are asleep or just watching TV. I have been up with the baby until MN at times... that's my blogging time.

Q: Do you think you're just wasting your time? more like procrastinating?
yes, sometimes... well most of the time. I love to write. But my handwriting is now very terrible. I love to journal. Now when I journal, it's mostly my devotions and prayers and thoughts about current reading plans on Blessed Is She or She Reads Truth. If I write a long prayer, I end up typing it.

Q: Why do you blog?
"A writer writes always. And not because of the need to produce as much as the need to just exhale. Verbally/mentally/emotionally speaking. " - Rachel B, testosterhome

In my not-so-recent past, I was a feature writer --> feature editor --> editor-in-chief for my highschool paper. I love to write. I am NOT a good writer or even classify myself as a writer. (maybe I did when I was in highschool). I just love to write.

Q: why so many OOTD posts?
I love to dress up even when I was young.  I document/experiment styles and combos and see which ones look nice or ones that do not have to be repeated. Seeing myself on photos also encourage me to loose the baby weight. I see those thighs and I have the energy to do some Zumba!

Q: Aren't you afraid that people know a lot of intimate stuff about your marriage or your children?
I try not to write very intimate details here. I have posted about NFP before and our reasons of practicing it. But I do not write anything about our sex life (proof of 4 kids already seen! haha).

I respect my children's privacy. i write about their funny quotes and activities. But I think as they get older, they will be featured less and less here. I want to respect their choice. If I am blogging when they are teens, I expect they do not want their friends to read all about them here.

Q: Why do you do sponsored posts?
I love collaborating with companies  and businesses who offer items that I truly love and use. Be assured that I won't post anything here that I do not truly recommend. If I get a request for a collab that does not fit my theme, I just say thanks, but no thanks. The reviews will be honest and true, even if it's a criticism or flaw. So far, I've been satisfied with the items I have reviewed or shared.

Speaking of sponsored posts and review, this is a reminder that the giveaway for this skirt is LIVE and on for a few more days. Don't forget to enter and win a maxi skirt or dot-dot smile dress for your little girl.
