Sorry not sorry for bombarding this post with more than 7 photos. The children are just so cute. We were all happy in sunny St. Pete Beach because it was low-80s for the high temps.  Five days at the beach ~ that's what we signed up for! Give us all the sunshine!

There was one rainy day (Tuesday) so we spent the day souvenir shopping. We went to the movies. We had lunch at a japanese steakhouse. We got the usual souvenirs ~ magnets for our fridge and the grandparents', shot glass for my mom who does not drink {she collects them}, shirts for the children.

We stayed at a timeshare in St. Pete Beach. Thanks to lolo and lola for the timeshare points.
We would love to stay there again but the usual full-kitchen is missing and instead only a kitchenette. The restaurants and bars are overpriced. Yet because of convenience we had lunch and I bought drinks there. For dinner, we ventured to nearby restaurants.

We had crab legs and seafood at Shells.
More seafood at John's Pass in Madeira Beach, north of Treasure Island.
Thai food and sushi at Nori Thai (St. Pete Beach).
More seafood and crab legs at Oyster Shucker.

Daniel and Isabel inherited my love of crab legs and cracking them!

Isn't Lucy's suit just the cutest? (similar here)
She rocked that peplum one-piece with cherries. I wondered if the same style is offered in adults -- sure enough! But a bit too expensive for my swimsuit budget....

Lucas' suit is a hand-me-down and has survived two older boys. It may have been a bad idea because he came home with worse eczema with a touch of urticaria (hives) because of something he ate  plus heat rash.

We had a day at the beach when the gulf was so calm. There were no waves. The children swam. Bastian explored farther in the water with me "helicopter-watching" him. The  resort had a blow up slide-maze on the water that day.

Our resort pass included the big blow up slide on the beach. Daniel, Isabel, Bastian and Lucy all tried the slide ONCE. I went 3 out of 4 days. On the last day, hubs finally tried the slide.

Our spring break was "later" this year. We missed the peak of spring break. The beach was not crowded. The children went to the pool at least an hour a day, with the rest of the time spent  playing in the sand or the sea. I did not even bother reserving a cabana hut the day before. There were always spots the day of. We had no problem getting a hut.

All in all our time in St. Pete Beach was a trip to remember. My children love beach vacations. After a day at the theme park, they were already asking if it was time to go to the beach. They inherited my beach-bum genes.
