so fancy as i walked to the back of the church {wiws}

disclaimer: this post is sponsored, but stories are real...
opinions my own.

How appropriate for the first photo -- head down... no eye contact.

We had another super eventful time at Mass.
Mr. Toddler (scroll below) was the opposite of happiness.

we got looks from all over the church bec I was one of those stubborn moms who refused to take my screaming child to the Cry Room. We were at the opposite end of the cry room entrance so it was much easier to take him to the back than go all the way to the front and up the stairs.

But.. I also waited... uhm maybe... 5 minutes into the: momma, i like it, i like it, i like it... daddy. want daddy. daddy... no. no.. no. daddy. (when in fact what he was telling me was: Momma i DON'T like it)

(I wish I could find mine to link here but I found it on clearance... paid <$15 for it!)

earrings, gift from my mom

I had the baby on my right hand, with a squirmy screaming toddler on my left. He was ready to dash but I am the BOSS! I draped my legs over him to keep him from running away.

insert, looks from all over here.

still screaming.

still yelling for his dada.

still telling me he does not like me.

We walked to the back of the church  with him and his strong lungs, screaming and crying NO the entiiirreeee tttttttiiiiiimmmmmeeeeeee...........

Lucy was a trooper. She was almost falling off as I carried her. She did not fuss or cry.
Mr. Toddler/ Screamer walked on his own, with one shoe off. He made it known to the entire congregation that he dislikes his mama.

He's happy here...
no sign that a meltdown was going to happen at Mass.

another sale find!

sweater dress - so light and perfect for the "mild" weekend we have here in the Midwest.
It's less than $15!

I got the US size 8, size Medium.
This dress runs small so my advise is to pay attention to the measurements. Item details show chest and waist measurements. Super helpful!

On my way to the back of the Church, all I could think of was: toddlers are created to keep their moms humble.

I may not be perfect at this motherhood thing, but my kids make sure i get tons of practice and that I get a chance to redeem myself everyday.

^^ I am outta here. let's go inside.

Remember all those ig posts and blog post about sock curls?
I am still obsessed with them. I curled my hair 5 days in a row WITHOUT heat!

This was one of those days.

It did not matter that it was snowing. I HAD TO DOCUMENT MY SOCK CURLS.

A lot of people asked HOW do i do it?
I watched this youtube video.

Then I had my husband fix my hair -- it obviously was his first time. It needed a lot of work.
Nights after, I did it on my own.
He was thankful!

Here's another video after a long day at work. Curls actually stayed bouncy. I use a little bit of this hairspray right after taking out the socks first thing in the morning. Then I do not touch the curls. I flip my hair upside down and massage the back of my scalp to "loosen" some curls but otherwise, I miminize touching them.

Hubs and I watched The Mystery of Irma Vep at the IRT. The perks of having our parents near us. {thank you mom for babysitting!}
This is the outfit I wore for our day date.

Lisa wrote on her blog that one reason for not going to her husband's party was every time I see these particular people I’m either pregnant or have a nursing baby with me...
... with pregnancy pregnant questions and comments always follow and sometimes I just wish I could opt out and have a discussion about something entirely different!

Dear Lisa - I am known at work as the person who is always nourishing a human being, either by lactating or gestating. As my co-worker nicely put it: when are you NOT pregnant? When are you NOT breastfeeding?

That's the truth... And I own it.

Hubs and I will be celebrating our 10th year wedding anniversary this fall. we have been talking for YEARS where and how we will celebrate our anniversary. Italy was our first choice. Then we clearly realized that after having Lucy, there's no way we will have the moolah saved up for a weeklong vacation overseas.

Then we thought about Hawaii.
Maybe island hop. enjoy the beach.

Then expedia showed me that it's $980 per person (!) just for flights.
so scratch that.
no Hawaii...

Then maybe, hubs will just join me for my work conference in Vancouver. Save money and basically pay for his expenses while my CME funds take care of my work trip.
But I do want to go to the beach.
Vancouver in the fall is not really beach-y.

As we talk about our anniv plans, one more thing comes to mind.
Lucy will be over a year by then. My fertility usually comes back soon after my children are weaned. I love having babies. I wish and pray for more than 4. (I say it all the time on my instagram)
But just the thought of telling my coworkers (or our parents), asking for another FMLA paperwork, taking another leave, etc etc, I am embarrassed  (for lack of a better word) to announce such good news. (Of course, i feel awful for saying that)

I am also admitting more and more that I am reaching my limits here.
Call it sleep deprivation. Call it slaving and taking care of little ones. But I do not mind spreading out the age gap here and not having another bambino in the coming odd year.

Hey. we know how this works. it takes two to make a baby.
we also know how to do NFP, problem is we don't follow it.
we cannot say no to love when it's obviously phase 2. {We are blessed and thankful that there was no grave reason to postpone pregnancy. I have had healthy pregnancies, praise God}

so when people ask me: is this it?
I am not sure. some days yes, some days no.
We are open to life.

So, ask me again, in the fall...

tv faves part ii {100 fave things)

outfit details:
gap sweater
leggings via zulily
Hunter boots
Hunter thick socks via hautelook

post 1 is about my fave desserts and drinks
post 2 is about my fave restaurants
post 3 is 10 things I love about my job
post 4 is about random fave things
post 5 is part I of TV faves (current series)

Old series

1. Lois and Clark: the new adventures of Superman
I am a superman girl! He is my fave superhero. I watched this in the Philippines and then binge watch it again as a grown-up. Thanks to hubs! He completed my collection and got me all 4 seasons!

Suffice it to say: I also liked Smallville. But most of its prime running was during my college years so I "grew out" of WB. I am just now going back to the old seasons and watching what I missed.

2. Grey's anatomy
I was a first year in med school when Grey's Anatomy aired its first season.
This was my go-to TV show post-call. It felt so good to cry when I was sleep-deprived and so tired.
I stopped watching/borrowing the DVDs after the 8th season I think.... And they killed McSteamy... then McDreamy! so upsetting.

3. Psych
If you want a good laugh with crime/detective stories with LOTS of FLAIR and 80s references -- this one is for you.

4. White Collar
Neal Caffrey... oh Neal Caffrey... why are you so good-looking? yet, you're a con-man.
A show that both Derrick and I loved watching. He even bought me the entire series!

5. Leverage
Why did they cancel this show?
It was witty. Derrick and I binged watch this together.

6. MacGyver
I watched it when i was young. I borrowed the first season from the library -- it's so 80s! haha.

Now we are headed to the series I watched in my teenage years.

7. X-Files
Do I need an explanation for this?
The truth is out there... SCIFI awesomeness.
{the revival started this Sunday with another episode last night!}

8. Charmed
This was shown Sat primetime in the Philippines. I watched the first couple of seasons. Then I got lost with all the plots and demons and white lighter stuff.
now when I visit my inlaws, I watch reruns there.

9.  Buffy the Vampire Angel
High school series during my high school years.
I wished I lived in sunny LA, but not fighting vampires of course!

10. Xena, the warrior princess
Wish I can kick-butt like Lucy Lawless!
