There are several awesome points I want to share on this Sunday's homily. I just want to copy and paste the entire sermon! (ha!) But I can't and won't really do that.
Therefore, here are a few words from Fr. Roberts' message and reflection
Mary is the perfect model for us in the New Evangelization. The first three stages of evangelization are: the Gospel announced, the call of Jesus received, and ongoing formation as disciples. Today we look at how Mary models for us the fourth stage: being sent...
We are sent to do exactly what the Father sent Jesus to do, and that is to bring salvation to the world. Jesus’ mission is our mission, and we are sent to do what He did: no less, no more, no other. How can we bring salvation to the world? Salvation comes only through the person of Jesus Christ, by entering into a faith relationship with Him. This means we hear the good news of God’s love revealed in Jesus, and then we recognize Jesus calling each of us by name. This leads to a deepening of our life in Him through Word, prayer, and Sacrament. Then, having become so united with Jesus, we become the encounter with Him to others. We become the Gospel announced, we become the call of Jesus to individuals, and we then help form one another in a relationship with Him.
