Part I:
Finding something that fits is still a struggle. I do have a lot of dresses that are bigger sizes but they are not nursing friendly. I have to resort to skirts and tops combo or dresses with  strapless options that I can just cover up with a cardigan.  Let's not even discuss the pants/trousers options. These hips that have borne 4 babes do not fit my work pants or jeans.

Luckily, I found this Jcrew combo. The polka dot top was from 2013. I found one similar here. The skirt is also old (because it's thrifted) from ThredUp

I love this bracelet because it has a story. I got it at a boutique in French Lick, Indiana during Derrick's bday weekend getaway 4 years ago. I got it for less than $25! here are 3 options less than $50 -- 1 // 2 // 3.

Ms. Coco made her appearance this week. She has a story too. It's fascinating to research about vintage designer purses. Ms. Coco (if my research is correct) is almost as old as me! the lambskin is still in good condition. She has scratches everywhere but the shiny lambskin is very pretty. Its age is showing mostly on its leather shoulder strap. It is very soft and has some creasings. The base has some bowing too.

Shopping preloved and/or vintage Chanels can be scary. There are a lot of replicas out there. I am no expert. I have returned a couple of used, claimed to be, authentic Louis and Chanel. there was something off the first time I saw them. I'm glad I trusted my instinct. I notified a couple of friends and they were not sure either. So they went back to the seller.

When I received Ms. Coco, I knew she was the real deal. The details, number of stitching per inch, zipper and used and shiny feel of the lambskin were all what they should  be according to my research. Also, the bag should still be looking decent and pretty for its age of 20-30 years because it's made in good quality materials but should also show some use. Some replicas, specially when they claimed to be 20 years old, do not show signs of wear or maybe minimal wear. That is a red flag.

Ms. Coco is very delicate. I hope I can preserve and use her for a long, long time.

Part II:
Isabel joined me today for my weekly WIWS post. She is wearing a dress from Target, gift from her godmom.  For Mass grades, she received the second to the highest grade. I am giving her an A-

The boys did not do so well. Daniel was initially a B. then he went down to a D when he started running around in Church after Mass. Sebastian, poor guy. he finally realized he is not the youngest anymore. He has been crying and whining and throwing himself on the floor.  Adjustment is tough. He gets a C.

Lucy gets an A. She's keeping her summa cum laude status.

Part II:
Bread of Life. The Gospel of Mark is truly awesome! This week's Gospel continues the Bread of Life Discourse.
We had a visiting priest this weekend. Our parish priest is still on his sabbatical. He had a great homily about the Eucharist. He reminded us that only Jesus can fill the empty void we always try to fill with earthly things.
He shared Tolkien's thoughts on the Eucharist. I'd like to share it here (also for my future reference).

"The only cure for sagging or fainting faith is Communion. Though always itself, perfect and complete and inviolate, the Blessed Sacrament does not operate completely and once for all in any of us. Like the act of Faith it must be continuous and grow by exercise.
"Frequency is of the highest effect.
"Seven times a week is more nourishing than seven times at intervals.
Also I can recommend this as an exercise (alas! only too easy to find opportunity for): make your Communion in circumstances that affront your taste. Choose a snuffling or gabbling priest or a proud and vulgar friar; and a church full of the usual bourgeois crowd, ill-behaved children—from those who yell to those products of Catholic schools who the moment the tabernacle is opened sit back and yawn—open-necked and dirty youths, women in trousers and often with hair both unkempt and uncovered. Go to Communion with them (and pray for them).
"It will be just the same (or better than that) as a mass said beautifully by a visibly holy man, and shared by a few devout and decorous people.
"It could not be worse than the mess of the feeding of the Five Thousand—after which our Lord propounded the feeding that was to come.”

Love the part about the "ill behaved children... Go to Communion with them (and pray for them)..."

Have a restful Lord's Day, friends
